FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
Q.
How does the program work?
A. Bring your empty cylinder
to the nearest Smart Exchange™ location and exchange it for a
full one.
Q. Can any cylinder be exchanged?
A. Your cylinder may be exchanged
if it is no more than ten years old, if the collar and foot-ring
are solidly welded to the cylinder, if there are no holes
or dents in the cylinder, and if it has a QCC valve.
Q. Can I exchange a cylinder
that is damaged, outdated or has a POL valve on it?
A. Damaged cylinders, cylinders
that are older than ten years and cylinders with POL valves
are not acceptable for exchange. We will however dispose of
these cylinders for you free of charge.
Q. What kind of cylinder will
I get when I exchange mine?
A. You will receive a clean,
reconditioned cylinder that has been inspected and filled by
a licensed propane handler.
Q. What's the difference between
a QCC valve and a POL valve?
A. The POL cylinder has threads
on the inside of the valve only, while the newer style QCC has
threads on both the inside and outside of the valve. The new
QCC valve is a universal fit and can be connected to all barbecues.
The QCC valve will only release propane when connected to your
barbecue. An unconnected QCC cylinder will not discharge propane
even if the valve is opened.
The QCC valve must be opened very slowly. If it is opened too
quickly, the access flow valve, a safety device that senses
the flow of propane, will shut down and not allow propane to
pass.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT CYLINDERS WITH POL VALVES FOR EXCHANGE. |
